Project Reach is Fresno Unified School District's first rock climbing club. The club, started in December 2012 with a 14 students has now reached a regular of 40 climbers weekly.

Why does Project Reach matter? It is best explained with examples. Most of the climbers failed their classes last semester. They are now completing their schoolwork because they want to remain eligible to climb. Some of the climbers were bullied on a daily basis last semester. Now they have friends. Many of the students were just poor kids. Now they are rock climbers. Within a few weeks they developed self-confidence, focus, and purpose.

Project Reach is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing fun, experiential learning - guiding students to develop healthy lifestyles and positiive individual development at a young age. 


Many people have asked how they can help. We have two areas of need: gear to allow the kids to climb and money to pay for memberships for the 2013-2014 school year.
